ICB won the BAIT award in the category "mobile solutions".
January 22nd. 2013, Sofia, Bulgaria, for the second consecutive year, the leading provider of software solutions ICB-Interconsult Bulgaria won the prize of the Bulgarian Association of information technologies (BAIT).
This year ICB took the prize in the category "mobile solutions" with the extremely innovative solution “K-IMS”, which allows the monitoring and the management of ships in real time via mobile devices, from the ship's bridge or directly from the land through a satellite connection.
The system ‘K-IMS” was jointly developed by ICB and the Norwegian company “Kongsberg Maritime” who is a leading global provider of ship systems with a market share of over 60% in shipping simulation.
The main purpose of “K-IMS” is to collect, analyze and disseminate data and information on the status of the vessel’s systems.
The application uses unique technologies of Microsoft, through which over a satellite link are collected over 10,000 parameters per second, for the current condition of the ship. In this way, in real time, a dedicated control center on the land, analyzes graphics and reports about the status of the vessel’s systems.
The information is visualized on different devices of the type of Microsoft Surface, mobile phones and tablets, thus shares information between the ship's bridge and on-land control center.
The K-IMS solution, developed by ICB brings the management of vessels fleets to different level, because it allows making critical decisions on land and not at sea, where resources are often limited. K-IMS meets the growing demand from customers, for a comprehensive look at the data and events in real time, not only for the individual vessel, but for the whole fleet of a company.
